CH - 03 ( UNSPOKEN TENSION)

Hey you… yes, you who just opened this story.

Before we dive into UNWRITTEN RULES, let me warn you—this isn’t your usual college romance. There’s tension. There’s obsession. There are moments that will make you bite your nails and whisper “Oh no, don’t do that!”

Meet Reyansh and Niyati soon. He’s unpredictable, charming, a little dangerous in ways you won’t expect. She’s calm, quiet, deadly with words, and not the kind of girl anyone can ignore.

Things will get messy, things will get intense… and trust me, you’re going to love every complicated second of it.

Ready? Let’s break some unwritten rules.

📍 Media Psychology Class – Two Days Later

Reyansh (standing at the front):"Today, we're diving into media-triggered emotional responses."

He began scribbling on the board.

No unnecessary small talk. No smile. Just clean, sharp instructions.

Reyansh:“I’ll be dividing the class into pairs. Each pair will choose a campaign and break down the psychological triggers used.”

Excited murmurs began—

everyone mentally pairing with their besties or crushes.

Reyansh (reading names):"Amit and Sanaya.”

“Neeraj and Ishika.”

She flipped her hair proudly. Obviously.

Reyansh:"And… Niyati and Ayaan.”

The room paused.

Ayaan Sharma — a known flirt, overconfident, always 5 minutes late.

Niyati?

Didn’t blink.

Didn’t react.

But Reyansh’s hand tightened on the marker.

Just for a second

---

📍 After Class

Ayaan (walking up to Niyati):“So… I’m guessing you’ll do the thinking, I’ll do the talking?”

Niyati (without looking at him):“Wrong. You’ll show up. I’ll do the rest.”

Ayaan grinned, unfazed.

Ayaan:“Challenge accepted.”

From behind the door, Reyansh heard it all.

And he didn’t like any of it.

---

📍 Faculty Room – Later That Day

Professor Mehta:“New class going well?”

Reyansh (stirring his coffee):“More or less.”

Mehta (smirking):“Heard a few girls already crushing on the ‘hot new prof’.”

Reyansh (dryly):“They should try crushing their insecurities instead.”

But even as he joked—

his thoughts wandered.

> “Why did I pair her with Ayaan?”

“Why does it bother me?”

He pushed the thought aside.

Or tried to.

---

📍 Library – Evening

Niyati sat at her usual spot.

Ayaan was late. Obviously.

She didn’t wait.

She was halfway into her breakdown of the campaign strategy when—

Reyansh:“Working ahead, I see.”

Her pen paused.

She looked up slowly.

Niyati:“I prefer silence over wasted time.”

Reyansh (raising a brow):“You think I made the wrong pairings?”

Niyati (coldly):“You didn’t make them based on compatibility. You made them to test control.”

That hit harder than he expected.

She wasn’t just quiet.

She was dangerously aware.

Reyansh (stepping closer):“And you think you can’t be controlled?”

Niyati (meeting his gaze):“Try. I enjoy proving people wrong.”

Their eyes locked—

A silent war, no one else witnessed.

No one else could even handle.

---

📍 Outside Library – Ishika watching them from afar

Ishika (muttering):“This girl needs to be reminded she’s not special.”

Her next move?

Coming.

And it won’t be quiet.
